Terms of use
Accra Life is one city shared by everyone who plays. These are the rules that keep it fair. By playing, you agree to them.
Who can play
- You must be 18 or older. The game asks you to confirm it before you play.
- Accra Life is a work of fiction. It contains crime, drugs, an illegal weapons trade and gambling, each with consequences. Nothing in it portrays real people or businesses, and nothing in it is real-life advice.
- One person, one account. Keep your password to yourself; what happens on your account is your responsibility.
Fair play
Every result in the game (money, items, dice rolls, how long things take) is decided on our servers. Do not try to get around that. In particular, do not:
- cheat, use bugs on purpose, or use scripts, bots or modified clients to play for you;
- use extra accounts to feed money or items to one character;
- scam other players, or pretend to be another player, a moderator or the game;
- harass anyone, post hate, or spam;
- share anyone's personal details, your own included, such as phone numbers, mobile money numbers or addresses.
If you find a bug, tell us instead of using it.
Some limits are built in to protect players. New characters are protected from crime for their first hours of play, and theft between players is capped. Crime and betting in the game are abstract dice rolls with real in-game costs: prison, heat with the police and lost money. They are never the smart way to play.
Blocking and reporting
You can block any player and report a message, a post, a photo or a player. Reports go to a moderator, who sees what was reported with a little of the conversation around it.
Moderation and sanctions
When a rule is broken, a moderator can act. Every action is logged with the moderator who took it, and each one has a reason from a fixed list (harassment, hate, scam, personal information, cheating, extra accounts, spam, impersonation, or other).
- Warning: a message telling you what was wrong.
- Mute: you cannot post in chat or on the Board for a set time, from an hour up to 30 days.
- Suspension: you cannot play for a set time, up to 7 days.
- Ban: the account is closed to play. A ban needs a second moderator to agree.
You are always told what happened, why and for how long. Every sanction can be lifted, and you are told when it ends. A moderator can also hide a message, post, comment or photo; hidden content can be restored.
If you think a decision is wrong, contact us through our official accounts and say why.
In-game money
The cedis in Accra Life (cash, MoMo and bank balances) are game money. They have no value outside the game and cannot be cashed out, withdrawn, or exchanged for real money. In-game MoMo and banks are game features, not real accounts.
Do not buy or sell game money, items or accounts for real money outside the game.
Buying cedis
The game is free to play. Buying in-game cedis is optional, and nothing in the game is locked behind it. Payments are made through Paystack. How much anyone can buy is capped each day and each week, and nobody can raise the cap.
Cedis you buy are game money like any other: they cannot be cashed out. If a payment went wrong, contact us and we will look into it.
Share rewards
Sharing the game to TikTok, X or WhatsApp from inside it can pay a reward in game money. Rewards are limited per platform each week, and they are game money only.
Paid adverts and songs
You can pay real money to show an advert on an in-game ad space or billboard, or to have your song played in the clubs. Every advert and every song waits in a moderation queue and appears only once a moderator approves it.
- You must own, or have permission to use, the picture, the music and the name you send, and an advert must be for something real and legal.
- An advert or song can be refused, for example if it is not an advert, cannot be read, is adult, hateful, a scam, illegal, or uses someone else's rights. If it is refused, the payment is refunded.
- If an approved advert is taken down later, the days it did not run become advert credit.
The game will change
Accra Life is a live game. We fix, balance and add to it, and we may change prices, limits and features as it grows. It runs in real time on one shared clock, and we cannot promise it will always be available.
The game is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses from playing it, from outages, or from other players' actions.
Your privacy
What we keep and why is set out in the privacy policy.
